Abstract Wave Railing

This wave-inspired metal railing was made by building the outer frame, followed by creating the design inside it. The code spacing between pickets cannot exceed four inches, so the design was changed slightly to fit. The inner pieces of metal were bent into shape and then welded together in this wavelike pattern. The railing was then finished with a gun blue finish.

Considering a metal railing in your home?

When it comes to home improvement projects, choosing the right materials makes all the difference. This is especially true when it comes to railings. While wood railings have long been a popular choice for homeowners, metal railings offer a number of benefits, including:

  1. Durability: Metal railings are more durable than their wooden counterparts. They are resistant to weathering and require less maintenance.

  2. Safety: Metal railings are safer than wood railings. They can survive heavy use and are less likely to warp, break, or splinter over time.

  3. Design flexibility: Metal railings offer a huge range of design options, from sleek and modern to ornate and traditional. They can be customized to fit any style or aesthetic, and can even be painted or powder-coated to match your home’s color scheme.

  4. Easy to clean: Metal railings are also incredibly easy to clean. They can be wiped down with a damp cloth, making them a low-maintenance option for busy homeowners.

  5. Environmentally friendly: Metal railings can be recycled at the end of their lifespan, which means they won’t end up in a landfill like wooden railings often do.
